Your Lazer Chasers landscape is the play area layout that defines zones, obstacles, and boundaries for your session. Setting up a great landscape makes for a more immersive and balanced game. Follow these steps to create yours.
Before you start
- Make sure your communication base is powered on and synced
- Have the Lazer Chasers app open and connected to your base
- Measure your play area so you know the approximate dimensions
Step 1: Open Landscape Setup In the Lazer Chasers app, tap Arena > Landscape > Create New. Give your landscape a name that reflects your play area (e.g. "Backyard Battle" or "Warehouse Arena").
Step 2: Set your boundaries Enter the dimensions of your play area in metres. The app will generate a base layout automatically. You can adjust the boundaries by dragging the corner markers on the map view.
Step 3: Add zones Zones divide your landscape into distinct areas for team play or capture-the-flag style games. Tap Add Zone and draw each zone on the map. Recommended starting zones:
- Home Base — where each team starts
- Neutral Zone — the central play area
- Power Zone — an optional high-risk, high-reward area in the centre
Step 4: Place obstacles Tap Add Obstacle to mark physical barriers in your play area such as walls, barriers, or furniture. This helps the app calculate accurate hit detection across zones.
Step 5: Save and activate Once you're happy with your layout, tap Save Landscape. On the session setup screen, select your new landscape under Arena Settings before starting your game.
Tips for a great landscape
- Keep zones balanced in size for fair gameplay
- Avoid placing the communication base inside a zone — keep it elevated and central
- Test your landscape with a short practice session before your main game
